Architect-designed house in Edegem, Belgium

The choice for a house with a traditionally constructed saddleback roof – the archetypical Flemish building – already renders the house its timeless character. On the other hand, the house looks up-to-date because of the way the rooftop is constructed right-angled to the side of the street. But also the composition of the outer walls, the outer joinery, the fine window profiles and the use of materials are truly contemporary.
